Part of villages on South coast of the Black sea are with typical revival architecture. In Pomorie is situated the reserve ”Old houses”, which has been approved by the National institute of historical records on 13.06.1977 and includes:
These house are built in XIX century and have specific style, which is typical for so called “Black sea urban house”.
The name shows that its about that house which is spread on the Black sea coast, and which has a typical style, forming a regional group of the Black sea coast urban house.
The house in Pomorie is a two-storey house with a stone ground floor with a wood edging and beech log above them, which makes it look in a very typical image.
The reason for that are the climate conditions. The horizontal slips of wood are not allow the humidity to get into the wall.
The high ground floor is built of stone, sometimes with a semi - floor in a same premise, where there are kitchen and farm premises. It was used for wine warehouse, to dry fish and fishing tackles.
There is a wood ladder which lead to the corridor of the floor, which they used for living.
Around the corridor there are rooms and one or two niches, in different and varied combinations.
In the rich houses the corridors and rooms have decorations on their ceilings and walls.
The planning of the floor has a very functional character. Each premise has define domestic functions.
The facade of the house is more open on the floor to the outer world, to the street and to the neighbor houses. Windows are bigger and are organized in a group of premises, through which helps to achieve clear structural rhythm.
The eaves decrease and allow the sun to reach the facade surface and the inner premises although there is a flexibility of the floors, the architecture and is calmer and relaxed.
In a very detailed review of the planning schemes of the residential floor are formed few groups. Most spread is the
asymmetric planning scheme, where the corridor is situated in the eagle of the floor, and the rooms are from both sides.
To the second group belongs houses, where the corridor is situated in a central place, and the rooms are from three sides.
Individual houses were situated more often on the street line and they follow the turning of the narrow street lines.
